Introducing the AT Consult
School districts have asked us for lower-cost, simple supports to help them understand what their assistive technology choices are. We have responded by introducing our new AT Consult, which provides access to our RESNA certified assistive technology staff starting at only $295, a savings of up to 40% off our traditional services.
How can we deliver quality services at such savings?
Utilizing new web technologies, we can provide demonstrations and team meetings remotely. Districts with a computer and broadband access can access our nationally recognized AT professionals via web conferencing tools. Plus, sessions can be recorded for later review. No travel expenses for our staff helps reduce your cost.
What the AT Consult entails:
- The consult begins with a review of relevant reports and a student’s IEP. We will also have you complete specific questionnaires to help us determine a student’s specific needs.
- We’ll meet with your team via web conference to clarify the student’s goals, demonstrate possible technology solutions and answer your staff’s questions.
- Following the meeting, you will receive a Next Steps Report which outlines the best next steps to take. It will include information on how to obtain loan equipment and free trial software. We’ll also include resources to help you perform trials of the technology and track a student’s progress.
Buy 3 and get a FREE TLC Membership
If you schedule three AT Consults, we'll sign you up for a complimentary, one-year Technology Lending Center (TLC) membership (a $125 value) which entitles you to borrow any of the equipment we have available for trial purposes for up to six weeks. Trials are an essential part of choosing the right assistive technology for a student. Visit the TLC and see what's available.

FAQs
It sounds very technical. Is it complicated to set up for the web conference?
Web conferencing has become quite easy and inexpensive. With just a broadband connection and a computer with speakers, you can be ready to go in no time. We can talk to your IT support staff to confirm the technical details before the meeting.
What if we really want your staff to do the AT Consult in-person at our school?
No problem. The consult would be charged at the same rate, $295, plus $55 per hour round trip travel time from our staff person’s location (staff are located all over the state).
What if we decide after the consult that we really need a full in-person evaluation of the student by one of your staff?
You can request a full evaluation within 30 days of the consult and we will deduct the full cost of the consult from the evaluation.
Does the student need to be present?
Since this is not an evaluation, the student does not need to be present. We will not be having the student try any devices during the consult. However, if they student is part of normal IEP meetings, and the team decides that they would like to have the student attend the consult so that they can be part of the conversation, then we are happy to have the student participate.
How will the student try the different technologies that are demonstrated?
As this is not an evaluation, we will not be having the student try any of the technologies during the consult. In your Next Steps Report, we will let you know how you can obtain any software or equipment for trial purposes. The trial would be conducted by school staff with the student. We will provide forms that can be used to help track the effectiveness of each tool.
